The Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute (GTMI) operates advanced shared user facilities, offering secure digital manufacturing, additive and subtractive processes, and large-scale production capabilities. These facilities support everything from concept development to pilot plant operations.

Georgia Tech Advanced Battery Center (GTABC)

The Georgia Tech Advanced Battery Center is a pilot-scale facility designed to test and validate cutting-edge R&D to allow integration into factory processes for commercial-scale battery development and production. (Planned launch Q1 2027)

Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB)

The Petit Institute (IBB) is a unique, interdisciplinary research and educational institute composed of state-of-the-art laboratories and globally recognized academic and research engineers and scientists.

In concert with its affiliated centers and faculty, IBB provides access to more than $400M of combined research tools and laboratories for education and technology transfer.

The Institute for Matter and Systems (IMS) operates state-of-the-art electronics and nanotechnology core facilities at Georgia Tech, offering a broad range of fabrication and characterization capabilities for activities from basic discovery to prototype realization.

The Institute for People and Technology (IPaT) assembles academics, industry, government, and other partners to create people-centered solutions to some of society’s thorniest challenges. The IPaT community has spearheaded breakthroughs in health, aging, usability, sustainability, smart cities, and more.

Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (IRIM)

The Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines at Georgia Tech supports and facilitates the operation of several core research facilities on campus allowing our faculty, students and collaborators to advance the boundaries of robotics research.

National Electric Energy Testing, Research & Applications Center (NEETRAC)

NEETRAC’s headquarters consists of several laboratories focused on medium and high voltage research, mechanical / environmental testing, and forensics / quality assurance.

Renewable Bioproducts Institute (RBI)

Georgia Tech’s Renewable Bioproducts Institute (RBI) champions innovation in converting biomass into value-added products, developing advanced chemical and bio-based refining technologies, and advancing excellence in manufacturing processes. Our three strategic thrusts are circular materials; bioindustrial manufacturing; and paper, packaging, and tissue.
